APV – Associazione Palazzo Viti

About us

In 2021, at the behest of Umberto Viti, a passionate curator and custodian of the palace he inherited from his ancestors, the Palazzo Viti Association was founded with the aim of preserving the works of art, the furnishings and all the fittings in the rooms on the main floor of the palace of the same name.

In addition to the management of the museum house, the association has several goals such as the promotion of cultural and educational activities aimed at schools and universities, the organisation of information meetings, conferences, studies and research on issues of historical interest, and cultural events, in cooperation with public and private institutions.

In particular, it intends to spread knowledge of the phenomenon of alabaster traders, of which Giuseppe Viti was one of the leading exponents, and to make a substantial contribution to the preservation of the extraordinary artistic and cultural heritage preserved by the Viti family for several generations.

The association's members and volunteers will be happy to welcome tourists and visitors, accompanying them on a unique journey through time that is sure to make their stay in Volterra unforgettable.
